Simplicity…

If you know me, you are well aware of how “over the top” my personality is, my creative mind never slows, and my insatiable need to stay busy.

Tonight, I sit in silence appreciating the slow balance of the evening. Although I kicked up activity early to get ‘chores’ done around the house, they were nothing more than tidying up and putting organizational touches on post-holiday clutter.

I sit and ponder the word “simplicity”. It’s a word that brings discomfort, while it’s comforting to do. It’s something I spoke of it frequently as I outlined my focused affirmations for 2026. Perhaps it means to slow down to ‘smell the roses’. Slow down to appreciate the fruits of my labor. Slow down to see and listen to the things that are in front of me that I often turn a blind eye to. I then think about my personality, my attire, the statements I make, the opinions I express, and the need to fill a void when there’s silence.

Simplicity isn’t about lowering standards and expectations for myself (nor others). As much as I ponder the word and actions to support it, the journey is to appreciate it. I’m passionate about authenticity…. and now find wanting a balance of simplistic authenticity.

I have a list of things I can do to capture productive hours left in my day to feel accomplished. Yet, I’m captivated by the sound of the master bedroom fireplace fan, my dog Bailey’s ID tags jingle as she scratched her chin, listening to cars buzz up the highway behind the house, and the sight of Milo (my service animal) snuggled at the base of a pillow catching a nap.

The messages are abundant to physically, mentally, and emotionally SLOW down… The signs and definitions of simplicity are in front and around me. I hear them and see them. It’s time to PAWS to reflect again on my motto, “a day filled with peace, passion, purpose, and for people”.

Simplicity might not be about me per se. The definition might lay in the 4 P’s to PAWS for BEES. Oh, how I look forward to writing more on this in the future as I reflect, understand, and define what I’m seeking in it.

May you wake tomorrow ‘filled with the peace, passion, purpose, and for people”. I assure, your day will be blessed as a result. More importantly, the impact FOR and on others will be that much more significant. Positivity is contagious.
